Art Studio

On Tuesday this week we were lucky to go visit the Art Studio. We were looking at a local artist Timo Rinnali's work. In particular we looked at the seagulls that he includes in many of his paintings, and how he draws his art with a curve to it, to make it look round like the earth. We looked at a book he had wrote and published about places around New Zealand. Check out us in action.

Kelly Sports

Room 16 had great fun participating in the Kelly Sports activities last week. There were lots of great activities that we took part in. Check out some of the fun!

Year 3 Poetry Competition

Well done to Kyra and Ziya who represented Room 16 in the Year 3 Poetry Competition today. Both girls did a wonderful job and should be very proud of themselves. Room 16 was for sure! Check out their wonderful poems.

On Tuesday we were lucky to have a cricket instructor in to teach us some cool cricket skills. We all had lots of fun, we especially liked the games at the end of the session where the boys challenged the girls.

Milk in schools

On Tuesday this week we started taking part in the Fonterra Milk for Schools programme. We were all very excited! We now look forward to drinking it every morning after our run. We have learnt how to fold the carton so it is very small, so they are able to be put it in the recycling bin. We think that it is pretty amazing that the cartons are able to be recycled into roofing tiles, and books. Take a look at us enjoying the milk and showing our expert folding skills.

Assembly Awards Week 3

A big congratulations to Baylee for completing her COPE Homework Challenge. Excellent work Dakota and Dylan for achieving an academic award. Well done to Kyra for doing so fantastically at the Impact Gym competition. She won seven medals!
